This started off as a school project for an art gallery in Toronto interested in commissioning an app for a special exhibition they were having (names have been changed here for copyright purposes). I worked alongside Melinda Newark and Nicco Miranda on this project and at the end of it, we created this prototype:
The gallery really liked it and asked us to create a mobile application based on the drawing and sharing component of the prototype. How the system works is that visitors of the gallery launch the app while they are on their network, and are given the opportunity to create their own painting interpretations inspired by the “Les Peintures” exhibition. Their creations can then either be shared on Facebook or posted to the huge digital mural in the lobby area of the gallery, which is a collage of everyone else’s creations.
